In my newly-minted quest for the perfect milkshake, I had the black-and-white at Brgr, recommended by New York Magazine as the best milkshake in the city. On my first few sips, I was indeed taken aback by the sweetness and mistook it for goodness. But after drinking a little more, I realized that while the flavors were there and it was a good milkshake, it was not a great milkshake. It was too thin and milky. It took the "milk" in milkshake a little too literally. Nor was the chocolate syrup anything special. A good milkshake, but ultimately forgettable.
